We are open Tues-Sat, 11 am to 7 pm

We are located at 10334 Joseph Campau Ave, Hamtramck, MI 48212.

There is a free parking lot two blocks away next to Fresh Valley Market (see Map).

Street parking is free in front of our store and on the side streets. We have a small loading area in the back accessible through the alley for large orders and in-kind donations (see Map).

Joy Thrift is a DBA under One New Humanity, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of immigrants, refugees, and under-resourced communities in Hamtramck, Michigan. Over half our population belongs to one or more of these groups. Our 2.2-square-mile city is Michigan's most densely populated, nestled within and alongside Detroit. Many of the people we serve live on the Hamtramck-Detroit border. Every purchase at our community store and through online sales directly supports programs that transform lives in our neighborhood.

Update to talk about partners and working with youth. We started without resources for professional content creation, but student volunteers generously contributed creative work. This inspired us to launch the Youth Marketing Academy—a paid summer internship program we fundraise for each year. It gives local high school students hands-on marketing experience, mentorship from industry professionals, and the chance to work on real client projects.

Update later. We meet many people through our work and often hear about urgent situations where Joy Thrift can make a difference. We've helped families access clothes for their children during job transitions, provided essential items to newly arrived immigrant and refugee families, and given winter coats and shoes to those who couldn't otherwise afford them. In these moments, we simply offer store credit so people can shop with dignity for what they need. While our inventory comes through donations, supporting our community this way carries real costs that matter to us.
